What is QueerHaven?
haven (plural havens)
1. (literal, dated) A harbour or anchorage protected from the sea.
2. A safe place.
Synonyms: refuge, sanctuary
3. A peaceful or tranquil place.
QueerHaven was founded on June 9th 2025 at the organisation’s constituting general assembly.
We were a group of people with extended networks of friends and acquaintances in North Sjælland & Greater Copenhagen, who had often felt ‘between two chairs’
For too long, the unique struggles that arise in the overlap of queer-ness and neurodivergence, didn’t have a proper place to go in Denmark.
We are here to bridge that gap.
When the world can feel like you’re on a ship, navigating through stormy weather with no direction, we offer you a metaphorical “Safe Harbor”, where things are quiet – even if just for a moment.
